Welcome Freshers
Firstly, allow me to extend my heartiest congratulations to you on being offered a place at Imperial College, London. Should you decide to accept this offer, you will be spending the next few years in London, with your education administered by this institution of international repute. As part of the Singapore community studying in Imperial College, we would very much like to prepare you in as best a manner as possible for your departure so that your stay in London will be a thoroughly enjoyable one. To enable us to do so, we would be much obliged if you could provide some of your personal particulars and contact details.
In compliance with the Data Protection Act, you are hereby informed that this is not an official communication from Imperial College. However, you can be assured that your particulars will be kept strictly confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of dissemination of important information to you. As such, we do hope that you will allow us to keep you informed of any helpful events in which you might like to take part in. These range from "meet-the-seniors" sessions to pre-departure briefings - in short, profoundly important (and extremely enjoyable) activities.
As such, I hope that the following details could be provided:

Freshers ( 2007 entry )
All of us were once freshers, which is why we know the essential things that you guys ought to know when you arrive in London
The society takes a great effort in its orientation program for all freshers who are coming to Imperial College. Some of these events are our very own predeparture talk for any academic related questions about Imperial College. Also, we'll be holding an orientation camp sometime in August 2007 in Singapore for the freshers to have a chance to meet and know one another, as well as get to know the rest of your seniors.
The society strongly believes that every fresher should be given as much support and guidance, to make the transition into studying in London and smooth and fruitful one. With events scheduled both in Singapore and London, we hope all your freshers will have an enjoyable time
Sotong Guide ( 2007 )
For those of you who are eager to get prepared to enter Imperial ( already ), here's the link to a freshman's guide to studying in Imperial - the Sotong Guide. Newly updated, the 2007/2008 version is the perfect preparation for London!
